Beware of suicide statistics

A very nice article this morning in DNA, the most respected regional newspaper in France.

We had recent debates in France about the frequency of suicides among business leaders.

I stress in this interview that there are no scientific bases to make such statistics. Nobody is going to survey devastated families to find out the suicide trigger (private ou professional).

There are more important topics to focus on: long periods of stress are generating major arteriosclerosis issues leading to potentially deadly syndromes.

Let's identify business professionals who seem lonely and suffering around us. Talk to them. Send them to their doctors for preventive action. Send them to CREDIR or similar support centers.

And stop using suicides as a justification for political fights between governments and business communities!
